What's your Manifesto?

Before you declare it to the world, what in fact is a manifesto?

A written statement declaring publicly the intentions, motives, or views of its issuer.

You’ve probably heard the term manifesto before. And, while you might be less familiar with its use in a business setting, the core principle still holds true: It’s a documentation of your beliefs and your values in the organization. I can guess what you’re thinking now: Wait… this sounds a lot like a mission statement. Are they different? Do I really need both?

While there are some similarities between the two—make no mistake—there really is a difference between a manifesto and a more traditional mission statement.

To keep things simple, think of your mission statement more as your purpose, and your manifesto more as your unshakeable, foundational belief.

Here is an example of one from a business associate of mine.

Nice, I loved this so much it inspired me to create my own.

I've written executive summaries and mission statements before, but this was new for me. I did a little research, and created my own. Check this site for ideas and planning. https://toggl.com/blog/write-manifesto-business

Here's mine, just an outline in PDF at the moment. But I will be taking this to press soon. Feel free to offer suggestions!

CONCLUSION
This is worth considering on many levels. It's a visual statement of what your company stands for, not so much a sales tool. As you can gather from my MANIFESTO, I'm about passion, love and delicious food. I'm also about sustainable agriculture, supporting local and clean food. Cheers, and have a wonderful weekend!
